The Under Graduate Hostel for Girls, started in 2012, is a residence for full-time undergraduate girl students of University of Delhi. The Hostel Complex is located at Dhaka, Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi-110009. In its 344 rooms, the hostel accommodates students from 49 colleges/ departments of both north and south campuses of the university. Seventeen rooms are reserved for foreign students joining the university under students’ exchange program.
The vision behind the hostel is to provide a comfortable and homely stay to the undergraduate students coming not only from various parts of India but also from around the world. Despite resource constrains, I along with my team, hostel warden, two resident tutors, administrative and office staff, always try to provide the best facilities possible to the students. In turn, we expect young bubbling students to remain focused on the real purpose of their stay i.e. studies, without missing out on any fun, albeit within the prescribed rules and regulations of the hostel. Little inconvenience might always be there no matter where we go; however there is nothing that we can’t get though. This is a home away from home to all of you and we all are a big family. I hope to have lovely enjoyable moments and experiences with you all.
